We are a group of cannabis marketers that are concerned about the ongoing trend of cannabis being unfairly regulated like alcohol. Effective cannabis regulation will center the needs of patients, community, industry, and government in a modern framework that addresses the unique properties and applications of the plant. Current cannabis regulations do not effectively address these unique properties nor separate it as a standalone product. We are seeking to propose an effective regulatory framework that addresses these differences and puts cannabis into an appropriate category of it’s own.
Mission
The Cannabis Marketing Policy Council is a membership-based collaboration that utilizes the power of industry officials to advance cannabis policy with regulators and the media. Our mission is to bring cannabis marketing industry leaders and stakeholders together to catalyze actionable improvements to marketing regulations and lend an authoritative voice on issues related to cannabis marketing. Specifically, we aim to create state-by-state policies that will craft policy uniquely for cannabis marketing that offer an alternative to the alocohol based model and are rooted in safety and responsibility.
Goals
To establish ourselves as the definitive experts and go-to group for cannabis marketing policy policy for lawmakers, regulators, media, and cannabis consumers.
Prevent cannabis from being treated like alcohol for marketing purposes in local, state, and federal law
